NMSI Update Bob and Anne Krepps -  June 6, 2003

This is an exciting time of year for New Mission Systems.  Bob has just returned from the Pre-Field Training Retreat for summer leaders and interns headed for various international ministry projects.  At the end of the conference these students and NMSI interns departed in teams to Jamaica, Honduras, Kenya, Malawi, Bulgaria, Russia, North Africa, and Australia.  Typically the ministry these summer teams have, greatly advances the work being done year-round by our long term affiliates.

For example, last summer a team of three young women and a nineteen year-old guy spoke to hundreds of Malawi high school students about the importance of sexual purity before marriage.  (Malawi, like many African countries, is experiencing an AIDS epidemic.)  They also did street preaching and house-to-house evangelism in villages and as a result, scores and scores of people came to faith in Christ.  Since then, Rutherford Banda, our national affiliate in Malawi has been busy teaching and baptizing the new believers, selecting and training leaders, and overseeing the fledgling churches.

This summer, a team of three guys and one young woman is in Malawi having a similar ministry.  The Honduras team is reaching out to teenage victims of abuse; the Bulgaria team is doing child evangelism and Vacation Bible School in Gypsy churches; the Russia team will be having a ministry with teens in youth groups; the Kenya team will also be teaching abstinence to youth and sharing the gospel with villagers in the bush.

Bob had the joy and privilege of helping to prepare these young people for their summer experience on the field.  He was asked to teach the sessions on spiritual gifts, devotional life, and living in community.  He also assisted the interns in preparing their personal testimonies and presentations of the gospel.  There were also numerous opportunities to interact personally with various individuals, answering questions, counseling, and praying for them.  Please pray for the physical and spiritual protection of these young servants of the gospel, for boldness, and for fruitfulness.

What’s Ahead:

--July 26-29   Bob will participate in the Debrief Retreat near Fort Myers for these same interns.

--August 18-21   Bob will attend annual office organizational and planning meetings at the international headquarters in Fort Myers.

--September   Anne is tentatively planning a visit to be with affiliates in Bulgaria and the Middle East.

We are now beginning to anticipate and prepare for our move to Fort Myers, which is about a year away.  Thank you so much for your partnership with us in this ministry and for your faithfulness in this period of transition.  We appreciate you!

                                                                                                Sincerely in Christ,

                                                                                                 Bob and Anne Krepps
