Fall 2005 Update

It has been a few months since we have given you an update on our lives and ministry.  It has been a very busy fall.

Kenya - October 4 - 22 - On October 4 Anne, Matthew and I will be leaving for Africa to attend a New Mission Systems International conference.  Every three years our missionaries serving worldwide meet in one location.  It is a time of renewal, teaching and training.  I will be leading a spiritual formation workshop at the conference.  For Anne and I, our primary purpose at this retreat will be to meet with and minister to missionaries and national leaders.  We will also see first hand and participate in NMSI's Africa Hope work with children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and our other relief efforts.  This will be our first time in Africa, so it is something we are all very much looking forward too.

Summer Internships - This summer we sent 39 summer interns to Bulgaria, Brazil, Kenya, Malawi, Thailand and Russia.  James (our son - in the picture) spent the summer in Thailand.  He came back with great stories of all God did.  I had the privilege of being involved in preparing these interns for their summer and debriefing them when they returned.  Some more pictures of James summer experience in Thailand are now on our website www.krepps.net/photos_from_thailand.htm

Teaching & Training - This fall I have been involved in orienting, training and mentoring a new group of missionaries preparing to deploy to the field.  After we return from Kenya I will be teaching a two week Spiritual Formation course to this group.

NMSI Offices - Over a year after Hurricane Charley destroyed our offices we are still in temporary offices (basically a couple of big rooms in two different buildings a mile apart).  Construction has finally begun on the rebuilding of our offices.  We are hoping be back in our offices by the first of the year.

Family - James and Michael are back in College in Tucson.  Matt is now a Junior a North Fort Myers High School.  He is enjoying being on the Cross Country team this fall.  So far, school has only been canceled one day due to hurricanes (Katrina).  We have been very blessed.  All of us are doing well.

Thank You - Thank you for praying for us!  Thank you for your support of our ministry!  We greatly appreciate you.

Please Pray:
For safety and good health while Anne, Matthew and I are in Africa (October 4 - 22).
Pray that God will greatly use our the time at the NMSI conference, the workshop, and our ministry in Kenya.

We are in need of additional financial support.  For the first time, NMSI now has a group health insurance policy.  The cost of this is about $400 per month more that the private insurance policy we had.  The blessing for us is that Matthew, who was not insurable (because he had heart surgery as an infant), is now covered under our group policy.  We also need additional support to cover the cost of some vital international teaching/ministering opportunities.  To contribute to our ministry go to this website www.nms-intl.org/donate and follow directions.  Our name will be on the list of missionaries/ministries that contributions can be designated to.  We are responsible for raising all the funds needed to cover our salary and ministry expenses.

Please keep in touch and let us know how we can pray for you.  Have a blessed day!
