PINEVILLE — Nellie Rose Goode, 85, of Pineville, went to be with
Jesus on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley.
Born Oct. 24, 1925 in Brighton Township, Beaver,
Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Velva Flesher.
Nellie was a member of the Pineville Church of the
Nazarene. She loved the Lord, her church, her family, reading, going to yard
sales, making crafts and visiting friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, George Carl Goode; an infant daughter, Linda Goode; a
daughter, Nina Fay Robbins; a son, Earl Scott Goode; two brothers, William and
George Flesher; four sisters, Elizabeth Delo, Eva Bryner, Lula Balser and Nina
Yocom; three nephews, Jack, Elmer and Harold Delo; and one niece, Mary Lou Delo
Glovak.
Survivors include two sons, David Goode of
Pineville and Randy Goode and his wife, Wanda, of Princeton; two daughters,
Joyce Archer and her husband, Elmer, of Icard, N.C. and Maggie Blevins and her
husband, Eugene, of Speedway; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Nellie’s life will be 3 p.m.,
Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the Pineville Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend
Matthew Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery. Family
and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m.
until time of service at the church on Sunday.
