Baptized Jan 6, 1747 Christ Lutheran Church, Northkill. Occupation
Carpenter and farmer. He was a Revolutionary War Veteran. He applied for a
pension May 20, 1818 in Mifflin County. In his records, it is stated that he
enlisted at Newmanstown, Berks Co., PA. Paper state he served three years,
spelling may be wrong, first in Capt Benjamin Selser's Company, then in the
German Regiment and was in the battles of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine and
Germantown, in the last of which he received a wound in the calf of the leg.
He was discharged in the town of Northumberland. Jan 1777 to Dec 1779. The
jacket of his application has an endorsement from New Berlin, Union County PA,
granting him the pension on 21 July 1819. In the application, Michael states
his wife is 66 and his son, Michael, is 26 weakly and unable to support
himself. 1780s tax lists, Heidelberg Twp., Berks Co., PA. 1790 PA census
